Transmission Range Selector Lever: Assembly
- Assemble the selector lever.
- Put the spring in place.
- Insert the plunger.
- Slide on the sleeve and compress it.
- Pretension the spring using a screwdriver.
- Pull the plunger back slightly.
- Install the sleeve.
- Position the sleeve.
- Drive in the retaining pin and align it centrally.
- Install the selector lever.
- Position the selector lever into the transaxle.
- Drive in the pivot pin.
NOTE: Bring the locating tooth into engagement. - Position the upper part of the body and the solenoid switch.
- Install the upper body bolts.
- Hook the plunger of the solenoid switch onto the lever.
- Install the solenoid switch bolts.
- Position the detent spring and adjust the selector lever.
- Move the selector lever to position "D".
- Install the detent spring loosely.
- Position feeler gauge.
- Tighten the detent spring.
- Check the gap again after moving the selector lever several times.
- Move the selector lever to position "D".
- Install the park position switch.
- Install the cover.
- Insert the lamp.
- Position cover.
- Install the selector lever knob.
- Using cable installed during disassembly, guide the cable in and insert the O/D switch.
- Push the selector lever knob on the selector lever.
- Carefully route the cable.
CAUTION: Do not damage the O/D cable when pushing it on. - Install the screw.
- Using cable installed during disassembly, guide the cable in and insert the O/D switch.
- Connect the electrical connector.
- Violet/White
- Black/White
- Yellow/Orange
- Yellow/Orange
- Orange/Black
- Black
- Black/Green
- Black/Green
- Insert the cable retainer.
- Install the connector.
