External Controls: Notes

Because fault diagnosis starts as soon as the vehicle is taken in for repair we recommend the following procedure:

  1. Check that the customer concern is clearly understood. As necessary reproduce the concern on the vehicle.
  2. If the concern is not clearly understood carry out a road test and perform visual checks using the following table.
    WARNING: Danger of accident. Apply the parking brake. Shift the transaxle to "P". Failure to follow these instructions can result in personal injury.

  3. If a concern can be identified with certainty by a visual check, correct it and test that the system operates normally.
  4. If the concern cannot be identified with certainty, then use the following symptom chart to identify it.
