Removal & Installation

  1. RCM is located on center tunnel, under instrument panel. Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS  . Disable air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM  .
  2. Pull back floor carpet from underneath instrument panel at center tunnel and position out of way. Disconnect RCM connector locking clips and electrical connectors. Remove RCM mounting bolts and RCM.
  3. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten RCM mounting bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  . Connect negative battery cable. With air bag simulators installed at all deployable devices, perform system operation check. See SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK  . Activate air bag system. See ACTIVATING SYSTEM  under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM.
