Trouble Shooting

Verify customer concern by operating system. Ensure transmission is fully engaged in Park or Neutral (A/T), or that clutch pedal is fully depressed (M/T) when attempting to start vehicle. Check battery for state of charge. Visually inspect for obvious signs of mechanical or electrical damage. Check for loose cable connections at battery and starter motor. If problem exists, repair as necessary. If problem does not exist, repair by symptom. See SYMPTOM INDEX  table under SYSTEM TESTS.
