Differential Fluid Seals: Installation
- Using the special tool install the differential seal.
- Install LH/RH halfshafts. See AXLE SHAFTS .
- Install the transaxle drain plug.
- Remove the drain pan and lower the vehicle.
- Add Motorcraft MERCON® Multi-purpose automatic transmission fluid or equivalent meeting MERCON® specification. See Figure.
- Start the engine and move the transaxle range selector lever through all gear positions. Refill as necessary.
- Allow the transmission fluid to reach operating temperature and fill as necessary.
- Test drive the vehicle.
