Coil Spring & Strut Assembly: Disassembly
Secure strut assembly in soft-jaw vise. Remove strut nut cover. See Fig 1 . Loosen, but DO NOT remove, strut nut. Compress spring with spring compressor, and remove strut nut. Remove mounting bracket, bearing, bearing seat, upper coil spring seat and dust boot. Pry dust boot from upper coil spring seat (if necessary). Remove coil spring with spring compressor attached. Slowly release tension from spring compressor, and remove from coil spring. Remove suspension bumper and spring insulator from strut.
