Test A: System Overcharges (More Than 15 Volts)

  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect generator 2-pin connector. Remove battery junction box fuse No. 9 (10-amp). Measure resistance of Blue wire between generator connector terminal and fuse No. 9 output terminal. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open circuit in Blue wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
  2. Measure resistance between generator connector terminal (Blue wire) and ground. If resistance is greater than 10 k/ohms, replace generator. See GENERATOR  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If resistance is 10 k/ohms or less, repair short to ground in Blue wire between generator and battery junction box fuse No. 9. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
