Test E: Improper Power Lumbar Support Operation
- Check Power Supply To Lumbar Support Switch - Disconnect lumbar switch connector. Using voltmeter, measure voltage of Red wire at switch connector. If reading is more than 10 volts, go to next step. If reading is less than 10 volts, repair Red and/or White/Red wire between switch and circuit breaker.
- Check Lumbar Support Switch - Perform LUMBAR SUPPORT CONTROL SWITCH test as described under COMPONENT TESTING. If switch is okay, go to next step. If switch is faulty, replace switch.
- Check Lumbar Support Pump/Motor - Disconnect seat back pad adjuster pump/motor connector. Using jumper wires, apply battery voltage to White wire terminal and ground Black wire terminal at pump/motor. If pump/motor operates, go to next step. If pump/motor does not operate, replace pump/motor.
- Check Pump/Motor Ground - With seat back pad adjuster pump/motor connector disconnected, use ohmmeter to measure resistance of Black wire between pump/motor connector and ground. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair White wire between switch and pump/motor. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair Black wire.
