Test A: Power Seats Completely Inoperative
- Check Fuse - Check 30-amp POWER WINDOW fuse in engine compartment fuse box. If fuse is okay, go to step 4). If fuse is blown, go to next step.
- Check System - Replace fuse and retest system. If fuse does not blow, go to step 4). If fuse blows again, go to next step.
- Check For Short To Ground - Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove fuse. Disconnect circuit breaker connector located behind left side of interior fuse panel. Using ohmmeter, measure resistance of White/Blue wire between ground and fuse terminal nearest battery. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair shorted White/Blue wire. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, reconnect circuit breaker connector and replace fuse. Reconnect battery cable and go to next step.
- Check Power Supply To Switches - Disconnect driver's seat back control switch connector and passenger seat control switch connector. Using voltmeter, measure voltage of Red wire at both connectors. If reading is less than 10 volts, go to next step. If reading is more than 10 volts, go to step 7).
- Check Power Supply To Circuit Breaker - Disconnect circuit breaker connector. Measure voltage of White/Blue wire at connector. If reading is less than 10 volts, repair White/Blue wire. If reading is more than 10 volts, go to next step.
- Check Circuit Breaker - With circuit breaker connector disconnected, use ohmmeter to measure resistance between circuit breaker terminals. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair Red and/or White/Blue wires. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, replace circuit breaker.
- Check Ground Circuit - With switches disconnected, measure resistance of Black wire between each switch connector and ground. If resistance is less than 5 ohms at either wire, replace related switch. If resistance is more than 5 ohms at either wire, repair appropriate Black wire.
