Test C: Luggage Compartment Door Is Inoperative Using Remote Transmitter
- Check Operation Of Remote Transmitter No. 1 - Press each button on remote transmitter No. 1. If remote transmitter No. 1 operates properly, system is operating properly at this time. If lock or unlock button did not operate properly, perform appropriate system test. See SYSTEM TEST INDEX . If trunk button did not operate, but lock and unlock button operates properly, go to next step.
- Check Operation Of Remote Transmitter No. 2 - Press each button on remote transmitter No. 2. If remote transmitter No. 2 operates properly, replace remote transmitter No. 1 and retest system operation. If remote transmitter No. 2 does not operate properly, go to next step.
- Check Green/Black Wire For Open - Turn ignition off. Disconnect RAP module Gray, 22-pin connector C404 (located in luggage compartment/trunk, behind right trim panel on ZX2 coupe and sedan, or located behind left rear quarter trim panel on wagon). Ensure trunk is closed. Connect a jumper wire between ground and RAP module 22-pin connector C404 terminal No. 7 (Green/Black wire). See Figure . If trunk does not unlock, remove jumper wire and go to next step. If trunk unlocks, replace RAP module and retest system operation.
- Check Luggage Compartment Actuator Ground Circuit - Disconnect luggage compartment actuator connector (located behind liftgate trim panel). Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between ground and luggage compartment actuator connector Black wire terminal. If resistance is more than 10 k/ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 10 k/ohms or less, repair Black wire and retest system operation.
- Check Pink Wire For Voltage - Reconnect RAP module 22-pin connector C404. Using a voltmeter, check voltage between ground and luggage compartment actuator connector Pink wire terminal while pressing remote transmitter trunk button several times. If voltage is 10 volts or less when trunk button is pressed, go to next step. If voltage is more than 10 volts when trunk button is pressed, replace luggage compartment actuator and retest system operation.
- Check Pink Wire For Open - Disconnect door lock relay. See DOOR LOCK RELAY under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Using an ohmmeter, check resistance in Pink wire between door lock relay connector terminal No. 1 and luggage compartment actuator connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Pink wire and retest system operation.
- Check Door Lock Relay - Test door lock relay. See DOOR LOCK RELAY under COMPONENT TESTING. If door lock relay is okay, repair Green/Black wire and retest system operation. If door lock relay is not okay, replace door lock relay and retest system operation.
