Fuel Level Sensor

  1. Remove fuel level sensor from fuel tank. Connect ohmmeter leads to Yellow and Black/Green wire terminals at fuel level sensor.
  2. Move float rod to empty position and read resistance. Resistance should be 14-18 ohms.
  3. Move float rod to full position and read resistance. Resistance should be 155-165 ohms.
  4. Slowly move float rod from empty position to full position. Resistance should slowly increase. If fuel level sensor is operating properly, go to system test. If sensor is malfunctioning, replace fuel level sensor.
