System Operation Check

WARNING: If the speed control system goes out of control or over speed during the road test, Be prepared to turn off the system with the speed control actuator off or the ignition switch.
  1. Start the engine.
  2. Turn the speed control actuator switch ON.
  3. Accelerate the vehicle and hold it at 56 km/h (35 mph).
  4. Press and release the COAST SET button. The vehicle should maintain a constant 56 km/h (35 mph).
  5. Press the speed control actuator switch OFF. The speed control should shut off and the vehicle should start to slow down.
  6. Accelerate the vehicle to 56 km/h (35 mph).
  7. Turn the speed control actuator switch ON.
  8. Press the COAST SET button.
  9. Press and hold the RES ACCEL button, and ease off the accelerator pedal. The vehicle's speed should gradually increase.
  10. When the vehicle's speed reaches 80 km/h (50 mph), release the RES ACCEL button. The vehicle should maintain a steady 80 km/h (50 mph).
  11. Press and hold the COAST SET button. The vehicle's speed should slowly decrease.
  12. Release the COAST SET button at 56 km/h (35 mph). The vehicle should maintain a steady speed at 56 km/h (35 mph) when the COAST SET button was released.
  13. Press the RES ACCEL button and hold it until the vehicle reaches 80 km/h (50 mph).
  14. Press and release the brake pedal. The speed control system should shut off and the engine should decrease in speed. Slow the vehicle down to 56 km/h (35 mph).
  15. Press and release the RES ACCEL button. The vehicle's speed should increase to 80 km/h (50 mph).
  16. Depress the brake pedal and start to slow the vehicle down.
  17. Press the CANCEL button.
  18. Press and release the RES ACCEL button. The vehicle should not return to the set speed of 80 km/h (50 mph).
  19. Press and release the speed control actuator switch. If speed control does not perform as described, go to SYSTEM TESTS  .
