Preliminary Checks

Check all fuses, electrical and vacuum connections. Service as necessary. If connections are okay, apply brakes and observe brakelights. If brakelights do not work, repair circuit. If brakelights are okay, Check the following:

• Clutch pedal position switch. See CLUTCH PEDAL POSITION SWITCH under DIAGNOSIS & TESTING.
• Horn Relay. See HORN RELAY under DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING.
• Servo actuator cable. See SERVO LINKAGE under ADJUSTMENTS.
• Binding or misadjusted throttle linkage.
• Vacuum system for leakage. See VACUUM SYSTEM under DIAGNOSIS & TESTING.
• Control switches. See CONTROL SWITCHES under DIAGNOSIS & TESTING.
• Servo. See SERVO under DIAGNOSIS & TESTING.
• Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS). See VSS under DIAGNOSIS & TESTING.
• Amplifier. See AMPLIFIER under DIAGNOSIS & TESTING.
• Wiring circuits. See AMPLIFIER under DIAGNOSIS & TESTING.
