Fuel Tank: Installation

  1. Align the fuel tank support straps and install the fuel tank support strap hinges and spring clips.
    NOTE: An assistant may be necessary to install the fuel tank.
  2. Raise and align the fuel tank to the bottom of the vehicle.
  3. Place a suitable jack under the fuel tank to support it.
  4. Place the fuel tank support straps under the fuel tank and install the fuel tank support strap bolts. Tighten the fuel tank support strap bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  5. Connect the fuel supply line and return line and tighten the hose clamps.
  6. Connect the fuel tank to filler pipe hose, then align and tighten the hose clamp.
  7. Connect the fuel pump electrical connector.
  8. Connect the fuel vapor hose and align the hose clamp.
  9. Align the fuel tank front protector and install the three fuel tank front protector bolts and the two pins. Tighten the three fuel tank front protector bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  10. Lower the vehicle.
  11. Refill the fuel tank.
  12. Connect the battery ground cable.
