Fuel Pump: Removal

  1. Remove the fuel tank. See FUEL TANK  .
  2. Clean the area of the fuel tank that surrounds the fuel pump.
  3. Remove the six fuel pump bolts.
    CAUTION: The fuel pump must be tipped to remove it from the fuel tank. Do not lift the fuel pump straight out of the fuel tank, or damage to the fuel tank sending unit may occur.
  4. Lift the fuel pump from the fuel tank.
  5. Remove and discard the fuel pump O-ring.
