KICKDOWN Cable

  1. Set shifter in Park position. Start and warm engine. Set parking brake. Engine idle speed should be 800-900 RPM. Check inner cable for slack while throttle is at idle position. Adjust outer cable adjuster nuts to remove slack from inner cable. Tighten lock nuts. Stop engine.
  2. When installing new kickdown cable, open throttle valve fully. Crimp pin with protector installed around kickdown cable. Remove protector. Check inner cable for slack. Adjust as necessary. Test for proper operation.
