Knock Sensor: Removal

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable.
  2. Remove intake plenum. See INTAKE PLENUM  under FUEL SYSTEM.
  3. Remove intake manifold. See LOWER INTAKE MANIFOLD  under FUEL SYSTEM.
  4. Remove radiator/heater pipes mounting bracket bolts.
  5. Remove five radiator/heater pipe-to-thermostat bolts. Remove radiator/heater pipes.
  6. Disconnect knock sensor electrical connector.
  7. Remove knock sensor bolt and knock sensor from cylinder block. See Figure .
