KICKDOWN Cable

  1. Shift transaxle into Park, and start and warm engine. Set parking brake. Engine idle speed should be 800-900 RPM. Check inner cable for slack while throttle is at idle position. Adjust outer cable adjustment nuts to remove slack from inner cable. Tighten lock nuts and stop engine.
  2. When installing new kickdown cable, fully open throttle valve. Crimp pin with protector installed around kickdown cable. Remove protector and check inner cable for slack. Adjust as necessary. Road test for proper operation.
