1992 ELECTRIC COOLING FAN APPLICATIONS
| Application | Engine |

| Tempo & Topaz | 2.3L & 3.0L |
NOTE:
Some vehicles are equipped with an Integrated Relay Controller Module (IRCM) which is part of Ford Electronic Engine Control (EEC-IV) system. Designated diagnostic codes must exist prior to testing IRCM. For complete information on Ford EEC-IV system, see the appropriate article in the ENGINE PERFORMANCE section.
Electric cooling fan system consists of a fan and electric motor attached to a fan shroud, located behind the radiator. System uses a coolant temperature switch mounted in the thermostat housing. Vehicles equipped with A/C have an Integrated Relay Control Module (IRCM) which controls the cooling fan. On vehicles with standard heater, the cooling fan is powered through the cooling fan relay. The electric cooling fan is wired to operate only when ignition switch is in RUN position. Disconnect cooling fan before performing any underhood service. The fan could cycle if ignition switch is left in ON position even with engine not running.
