Illuminated Entry
- Disconnect control module connector. Check continuity to ground at terminal No. 2 of the C406 connector. Is there continuity? If yes, go to next step. If no, service open in Black wire. Repeat Quick Test . See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
- Turn ignition off. Depress any button on keypad. If both keyhole lights come on, go to step 5 . If one or both keyholes do not illuminate, go to next step.
- Disconnect connector C418 from control module. Check for short between terminals No. 12 and 6 of connector C418. Check for continuity between terminal No. 12 of C418 connector and lock cylinder connector. If no short is found between terminals No. 12 and 6, but continuity exists between terminal No. 12 and lock cylinder connector, go to next step. If short is present between terminals No. 12 and 6, but no continuity exists between terminal No. 12 and lock cylinder connector, repair open or short in Black/Pink wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
- Reconnect C418 connector to module. Attach voltmeter between terminal No. 12 of the C406 connector and ground. Lift up each front door handle to actuate the door handle switch. Read voltage. Reading may take 15 seconds to appear. If reading is 10 volts or greater, replace non-functional lock cylinder. Repeat Quick Test . If reading is less than 10 volts, go to next step.
- Check voltage at terminal No. 13 of connector C406 and ground. If reading is 10 volts or greater, go to next step. If reading is less than 10 volts, check and replace fuse. Service open or short in Light Green/Yellow wire. Repeat Quick Test . See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
- Check voltage at terminal No. 8 of connector C406 with ignition switch in ON and OFF positions. If reading is 10 volts or greater in ON position, go to next step. If reading is greater than zero in OFF position or less than 10 volts in ON position, repair open or short in Pink wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
- On each front door, check for continuity between terminal No. 11 of connector C406 and ground when door handle is lifted up and in normal position. If continuity exists with handle lifted and does not exist with handle in normal position, go to step 10 . If no continuity exists with either handle lifted, go to step 9 . If continuity exists with both handles in normal position, go to next step.
- Disconnect control module connector C406 and both door handles switches. Check for short to ground between terminal No. 11 and ground. If no short exists, replace door handle switch. If short exists, repair White/Light Blue wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
- Check for continuity between terminal No. 11 of connector C406 and door handle switch connector on White/Light Blue wire, on handles which failed in step 7 . If continuity exists, replace door handle switch. If no continuity exists, repair open in White/Light Blue wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
- Reconnect control module connectors. Turn ignition off. Measure voltage between terminal No. 12 and ground with door handle lifted. If reading is 10 volts or greater, go to next step. Reading may take 15-30 seconds to appear. If reading is less than 10 volts, replace control module.
- Disconnect connector C418. Momentarily connect a jumper between terminals No. 2 and 12 of connector C418. If interior lights illuminate, got next step. If interior lights do not illuminate, repair short or open in Light Green/Yellow and Black/Light Blue wires. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
- Inspect the C418 and C406 connectors for loose or corroded pins. Are there loose or corroded pins? If no, replace module. Repeat Quick Test . If yes, service as required. Repeat Quick Test .
