KICKDOWN Cable

  1. Remove splash shield next to left front tire. Remove square head plug, marked "L". Install Transmission Test Adapter (D87C-77000-A) and Pressure Gauge (T57L-77820-A). Turn kickdown cable lock nuts as far as they will go, away from throttle cam, to loosen cable completely.
  2. Shift transaxle into park position, start and warm engine. With engine on, turn lock nuts toward throttle cam until line pressure begins to go beyond 63-66 psi. (4.4-4.6 kg/cm2 ). Turn lock nuts away from throttle cam until line pressure reaches 63-66 psi (4.4-4.6 kg/cm2 ).
  3. Tighten lock nuts and stop engine. Install square head plug and tighten to 43-87 INCH lbs. (5-10 N.m).
