Master Switch (Sable & Taurus)

  1. Remove switch from vehicle. Test with a self-powered test light or ohmmeter. With switch in "NEUTRAL" position, there should be continuity between terminals No. 1 through 9, 10 and 11. See Figure .
  2. With all switches pushed upward (to close windows), there should be continuity between terminals No. 1, 3, 5, 7, 10, and 11, and terminals No. 2, 4, 6, 8 and 9. With all switches pushed downward (to open all windows), there should be continuity between terminals No. 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9 and terminals No. 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 11.
  3. With lockout depressed, there should be no continuity between terminal No. 11 and any terminal. If switch fails any of these tests, replace master switch.
