Dropping Resistor

  1. Disconnect dropping resistor (located in air intake at engine manifold) from wiring harness. Connect test lamp between dropping resistor input terminal (on wiring harness), and ground. Turn ignition to "RUN".
  2. If lamp does not light, check harness between No. 2 relay and dropping resistor. If lamp lights, go to step 3).
  3. Connect an ohmmeter to the connector terminals on the resistor. If reading is less than 1 ohm, dropping resistor is OK. If not, replace resistor.
