Visual Leak Test

  1. Remove air cleaner. Pressurize fuel system by turning key on and off 5 times with 1 second periods on before switching off. Visually observe injectors for any sign of leakage.
  2. If no leakage is observed or leakage is less than 1 drop of fuel per minute, injectors are OK. If injectors discharge or leak more than 1 drop of fuel per minute, turn key off.
  3. Unplug electrical connectors from both injectors. Pressure fuel system as in step 1). Observe injector for leaks again.
  4. If no leaks are observed, or leakage is less than 1 drop of fuel in 1 minute, then injectors are OK. Check for improper electrical signal to injector.
CAUTION: DO NOT  apply voltage directly to injectors.
  5. If leakage is still greater than 1 drop per minute, replace leaking injectors.
