Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor

The ECT sensor, threaded into the heater supply tube, monitors and signals the ECA of engine coolant temperature. This information is interpreted by the ECA as either cold or normal operating temperature. This information influences ECA control of fuel mixture enrichment, idle speed, ignition, and EGR operation.
