Navigation And Form Fields: Objective

This section presents recommendations for navigation in a Windows™-based Graphical User Interface (GUI). The recommendations are for consistency in:

• icons, buttons and other screen controls.
• textual labels used.
• keyboard and mouse navigation through various functions.

This section suggests fairly high-level guidelines regarding these functions. These recommendations attempt to provide guidelines that are achievable while allowing software developers to maintain product differentiation, brand identity and "power features" that make software products attractive to the customer.
