Data Transfer
The data transfer between vehicle system and support system at a minimum provides for records submittal within a reasonable time period allowed by regulation. Many current implementations of electronic driver log systems, though, require much more timely data transfers to support proactive compliance management processes. Many systems provide near real time synchronization of records between the vehicle system and support system.
There is also a requirement for driver log data portability as a driver may move between vehicles. There is not a regulatory requirement or current data security
