Remove/Install High-Pressure Line To Rail - Ar07.16-D-1004TSV

Engine 642 in model 907

  Risk of explosion  caused by fuel Igniting, risk of poisoning caused by inhaling and swallowing fuel as well as risk of injury to eyes and skin caused by contactwith fuel. No fires, sparks, open flames or smoking. Pour fuels into suitable and appropriately marked containers only.
Wear protective clothing when handling fuel.

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Remove trim of left cylinder head cover   AR01.20-D-5018TSV
2 Remove bracket (1). IMPORTANT To do this, remove screws (2).  
3 Remove bolt (3). TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw, high-pressure line retaining clamp to cylinder head cover/charge-air distributor *BA07.16-N-1013-03TSV 
4 Remove high-pressure line (4) at fuel high-pressure pump and rail.    
  Notes on threaded connections fastened using a tightening angle-based tightening process   AH00.00-P-0020-01A
  Note on calculation of tightening torque when using insertion or socket tools with various effective lengths   AH00.00-P-0015-01CW
    INSTALLATION IMPORTANT :
First slightly screw union nuts of high-pressure line (4) by hand onto fuel high-pressure pump and rail. Then tighten to torque and tightening angle.
Tension can otherwise arise at high-pressure line (4).
IMPORTANT In this connection, counterhold high-pressure fitting at fuel high-pressure pump.
Collect escaping fuel.
 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Union nut, high-pressure line for fuel system high pressure pump to fuel system high pressure pump *BA07.16-N-1008-03TSV 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Union nut, high-pressure line for fuel system high pressure pump to rail *BA07.16-N-1007-03TSV 
    SPECIAL TOOL Box wrench bit Fig 2
    SPECIAL TOOL Open wrench insert, (18 mm) Fig 1
    If high-pressure fitting at fuel high-pressure pump was released

Remove high-pressure fitting, replace sealing ring and screw in high-pressure fitting again.
 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Fitting on fuel system high pressure pump *BA07.16-N-1010-03TSV 
5 Remove high-pressure line (4). IMPORTANT Seal connections at fuel high-pressure pump and rail.
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT : Check sealing cones of high-pressure line (4) for damage.
 
    SPECIAL TOOL Record plug
Depending on the findings,

replace high-pressure line (4).

6 Install in the reverse order.    
INSPECT Check     
  Risk of explosion  caused by fuel igniting. Risk of injury  to skin and eyes caused by fuel spraying out at high pressure Keep all ignition sources out of hazard area. Do not carry out any work on system when it is pressurized. AS07.16-Z-0001-01A
WARNING Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts. AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
7 Check leak tightness in visible area when the engine is running. IMPORTANT Visual inspection only.
