| 1 | Remove the connecting rods (2) from the step (3). | AR88.30-D-8502TS | |
| 2 | Cut the cable tie (arrow A). | ||
| 3 | Pull out the step (3) in the direction of the arrow (arrow B) as far as it will go. | ||
| 4 | Remove the corner fitting (4). | ||
| 5 | Remove sealing compound (5). | ||
| 6 | Cut through the electrical wiring harness (1.1) at a suitable position. | ||
| 7 | Fasten a suitable pull-in aid to the section of the electrical wiring harness (1.1) of the contact strip (1). | ||
| 8 | Remove the contact strip (1) with the part of the electrical wiring harness (1.1) from the step (3). | ||
| 9 | Detach the contact strip (1) with the part of the electrical wiring harness (1.1) from the pull-in aid. | ||
| Build in | |||
| 10 | Strip the ends of the electrical lines of the electrical wiring harness (1.1) remaining on the step. | ||
| 11 | Short the electrical wiring harness (1.1) of the new contact strip (1) to the length of the previously removed old part. | Ensure the correct length of the electrical wiring harness (1.1). Otherwise the electrical wiring harness (1.1) or the new contact strip (1) can be damaged. |

| 12 | Introduce part of the electrical wiring harness (1.1) of the new contact strip (1) into the step (3). | ||
| 13 | Strip the ends of the electrical lines on the new contact strip (1). | ||
| 14 | Position the contact strip (1) on the step (3), align it in the middle and attach. | ||
| 15 | Fit corner fitting (4). | ||
| 16 | Push in the step (3) as far as it will go. | ||
| 17 | Connect the ends of the electrical lines of the new contact strip (1) to the ends of the electrical lines remaining on the step with crimp connectors. | Pay attention to the color coding of the electrical lines. Otherwise the electrical step may malfunction. |

| 18 | Secure the electrical wiring harness with a new cable tie (arrow A). | ||
