Topical note  Notes on avoiding damage through contamination and foreign objects   AH00.00-P-5000-01A

NOTES Ensure absolute cleanliness when working on the high-pressure fuel circuit. Thoroughly clean the area around the connecting point before opening the high-pressure fuel circuit. Use only lint-free cleaning cloths

Even the smallest dirt particles in the hydraulic components will impair the function of the high-pressure fuel circuit and cause it to fail.

IMPORTANT During reduction of the fuel pressure always wear oil-resistant, fiber-free gloves which are lined with rubber.

  1. Cover connecting point for the high-pressure line to be opened using suitable rags.
  2. Carefully loosen union nut somewhat for the high-pressure line to be opened.

NOTES No fuel should flow over the engine.

    Otherwise damage will occur.

IMPORTANT The pressure in the fuel high-pressure circuit is increased for an engine at operating temperature. Thus causes a larger fuel quantity to leak out.

IMPORTANT Collect exuded fuel using a suitable absorbent rag.
