	Remove/install
1	Remove right air filter housing.	When removing ignition coils (17, 18).

2	Remove left-hand air filter housing.	When removing ignition coil (19).
			AR09.10-P-1150MNA
3	Remove right and left air filter housings.	When removing ignition coil (20).

4	Remove cover (21).	Engine 177 in model 205
5	Remove screw/bolts (1, 2).	When removing ignition coil (18).
		Bolt, engine wiring harness to cylinder head cover	*BA15.18-P-1001-01G
6	Unclip electrical plug connections (3) at right crash plate.	Engine 177 in model 205 When removing ignition coil (17).
7	Remove screws (4).	When removing ignition coil (17).

		Engine 177 in model 205Screw/bolt, bracket of vacuum line to shield plate of high-pressure pump	*BA43.05-P-1002-01O
8	Remove vacuum line (5) from vacuum pump and seal openings with suitable stop plugs.	When removing ignition coil (17).
		Record plug	Fig 2
9	Remove upper heat shield (6) of left and right exhaust gas turbocharger.	When removing ignition coil (20).

10	Remove insulation (7).	When removing ignition coil (20).
11	Unscrew bolts (8) and place heat shield to one side.	When removing ignition coil (20).
		Bolt, side heat shield to cylinder head cover	*BA09.40-P-1007-01ZA
12	Release and disconnect electrical connectors (9, 10, 11, 12).
13	Remove screws (13, 14, 15, 16) of ignition coils (17, 18, 19, 20).	Bolt, ignition coil to cylinder head cover	*BA15.10-P-1001-04D
14	Pull out ignition coils (17, 18, 19, 20) with spark plug connectors upwards and remove.	Apply spark plug connector grease before installation of spark plug connector to reduce the draw-off/attachment forces. Otherwise the spark plug connector will be damaged when removed again. : Discharge approx. Fill 1 g of spark plug connector grease into the spark plug connector.

	Check
15	Check ignition coils (17, 18, 19, 20) and spark plug connectors for damage.	If problems exist, ↓ Replace ignition coils (17, 18, 19, 20) or spark plug connectors.
16	Install in the reverse order.
17	Read out fault memory with vehicle diagnosis system and delete if necessary.
