General
In order to positively influence the seat belt behavior for the rear passengers and to increase comfort, the luxury individual rear seats (special equipment) are available with automatic seat belt feeders.
Automatic seat belt feeders in the rear passenger compartment are additional special equipment for luxury individual seats in rear. The design of the two seat belt feeders enables inconspicuous integration in their surroundings.
Function requirements
- CAN bus system in wake-up mode
Function
The seat belt feeder is integrated in the rear shelf on the left and right outside behind the rear seat and is actuated directly by the rear seat control unit respectively. As soon as the rear passenger is sitting on one of the outside rear seats and the door has closed, the seat belt feeder automatically moves to a comfortable reach range. The rear passengers can fasten their seat belt quickly and easily. After the passengers have put on their seat belts, the seat belt feeder returns to its original position.
The seat belt feeder automatically returns to its original position:
- After the passengers have put on their seat belts.
- If the passengers have not put on their seat belts after a certain period of time.
- If the doors are opened again.
- After driving off.
The seat belt feeders can also be requested manually via the screens of MBUX.
If the vehicle is equipped with MBUX Interior Assistant, the seat belt feeder extends as soon as the rear passenger grabs the seat belt tongue.
The automatic function of the seat belt feeders in the rear passenger compartment can be deactivated using the button in the driver's door for the child safety lock of the rear side windows. The function can also be deactivated or activated via a menu in the touchscreen of the head unit. From a certain speed limit while driving, the seat belt feeder is not active.
