Mentor Program Development Process: Notes
There are several important steps to developing a successful mentor program:
- Develop a customized ROI model.
- Develop a mentor compensation package.
- Design a mentor uniform.
- Develop a tracking and reporting system.
- Develop trainee materials (e.g., workbook-manual or electronic)
- Develop a mentor training and development system.
- Identify the number and skill level of mentors needed.
- Identify appropriate mentor qualifications/requirements.
- Assess mentor candidate qualifications.
- Train and certify mentor(s).
- Develop a control system to include ongoing evaluations and updates.
- Formally launch program.
