Location 

The Electronic Stability Program control unit is located in the engine compartment, at the left next to the BAS brake booster (A7/7) at the traction system hydraulic unit.

• Electronic brake force distribution (EBD)

• Acceleration skid control (ASR), electronic traction system (ETS)
• Brake Assist System (BAS)
• Brake Assist System PLUS (BAS PLUS) (with CODE P20 (Driving Assistance package Plus))
• Hill Start Assist
• Adaptive brake lights, flashing (except with CODE 494 (USA version))
• Dry braking
• Precharging, depending on accelerator pedal actuation
• Precharging, depending on lateral acceleration
• HOLD function
• ESP® trailer stabilization (with CODE 550 (Trailer hitch))
• PRE-SAFE® system
• Standstill control (SSC)
• Steer Assist
• Crosswind Assist
• Tire pressure loss warning (RDW) Tire pressure monitor (with CODE 477 (Tire pressure loss warning))
• Variable speed limiter (except code P20 (Driving Assistance package Plus))

Reading in of signals 

The input factors are read in via the following connections:

The Electronic Stability Program control unit is a subscriber to suspension FlexRay. It communicates with the following control units:

• Turn rate sensor, lateral and longitudinal acceleration (B24/15)
• Supplemental Restraint System control unit (N2/10)
• CDI control unit (N3/9) (with diesel engines)

The input factors that have been read in are evaluated by the integrated microprocessor and the affected components are then actuated.
