| 1 | Deactivate easy entry and exit feature for steering wheel | ||
| 2 | Turn complete wheels on front axle to straight-ahead position and secure steering wheel with holding device | Otherwise the clock spring contact will be destroyed. |

| 9 | Disconnect electric line, terminal 30 (4) from starter (M1) | ||
| 10 | Disconnect electric line, terminal 50 (3) from starter (M1) | ||

| 12 | Lift bracket (5) and remove screws (6) | *BA15.30-P-1001-01T | |
| 13 | Remove starter (M1) downward | ||
| 14 | Check pinion of the starter (M1) for wear and damage | If a problem arises ↓ Replace starter (M1). |

| 15 | Remove front lower engine compartment paneling | If the starter drive pinion is damaged. | |
