Component Description For 360 Degree Viewing System Control Unit - GF54.65-P-5003FQM
MODEL 218
as of year 2015
with CODE 501 (360 degree camera)
Location
The 360° camera control unit is secured behind the side cover in the trunk on the right in the direction of travel.
Task
The 360° camera control unit has the following tasks:
- Reading in of signals
- Evaluation of input factors
- Actuation of components
- Output of signals
Reading in of signals
The input factors are read in via the following connections:
- Low voltage differential signal (LVDS) line
- Chassis CAN 2 (CAN E2)
LVDS line
The picture data of the following components are read in via a low voltage differential signaling line in each case:
- Left 360° outside mirror camera (B84/7)
- Right 360° outside mirror camera (B84/8)
- Camera, front 360° camera (B84/9)
- Camera, rear 360° camera (B84/10)
Chassis CAN 2
The signals for activating the 360° cameras and for calculating the representation on the Audio/COMAND display (A40/8) are read in by the 360° camera control unit via chassis CAN 2. The functions that use these signals are described in the individual function descriptions (see block diagram or function schematic).
Evaluation of input factors
The input factors that have been read in are evaluated by the integrated microprocessor and the relevant components are then actuated.
Actuation of components
The signals for activating the Audio/COMAND display are sent by the 360° camera control unit over the chassis CAN 2. The functions that use these signals are described in the individual function descriptions (see block diagram or function schematic).
Output of signals
The 360° camera control unit transmits the visual data via an LVDS line to the COMAND controller unit (A40/3).
