Remove/Install Distronic Sensor (DTR) - AR30.30-P-1010EL

MODEL 172.4, 218 

with CODE 233 (DISTRONIC PLUS) 

MODEL 172.4 

with CODE 239 (Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC)

  Information on preventing damage to electronic components due to electrostatic discharge   AH54.00-P-0001-01A
  Remove/install     
1.1 Remove center reinforcement at the front Model 218 with code 233 (DISTRONIC PLUS)
IMPORTANT Do not remove the hood latches. If necessary, disconnect the electrical connections from the hood latch.

1.2 Remove cooler air duct segment Model 218 with engine 642 with code 233 (DISTRONIC PLUS) AR20.20-P-3865-10EL
1.3 Remove front bumper Model 172 with code 233 (DISTRONIC PLUS) AR88.20-P-2000W
1.4 Remove Mercedes star Model 172 with code 239 (Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC) AR88.40-P-4050W
2 Unlock and detach electrical connection (1) on DISTRONIC electric controller unit (A89)    
3.1 Undo nuts (2) and remove DISTRONIC electric controller unit (A89) from bracket Model 172, 218 with code 233 (DISTRONIC PLUS) AH88.20-P-1000-01A
3.2 Pull DISTRONIC electric controller unit (A89) out of bracket and remove Model 172 with code 239 (Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC)  
4 Install in the reverse order

REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS
Perform initialization and calibration of DISTRONIC electric controller unit (A89) with the diagnostic system   AD00.00-P-2000-04A

REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS
Read out fault memory and clear if necessary   AD00.00-P-2000-04A
