	Remove/install
2.1	Remove intake manifold (3)	Engine 276.9 in model 231	AR09.20-P-1961RKA
2.2	Remove upper engine covers	Engine 157, 276.8, 278 in model 231
3	Remove both engine air intake ducts upstream of air filter	Engine 157, 276.8, 278 in model 231
4.1	Remove air filter housing (2)	Engine 276.9 in model 231
		Bolt, air filter to cylinder head cover	*BA09.10-P-1001-01M
		Bolt, air filter to air intake pipe support brace	*BA09.10-P-1002-01M
4.2	Remove both air filter housings (2)	Engine 157, 276.8, 278 in model 231 Engine 276.8 in model 231	AR09.10-P-1150RKA
5	Remove insulation on rail
6	Detach connector (4) from cylinder 1 ignition coil (T1/1) to cylinder 6 ignition coil (T1/6) or to cylinder 8 ignition coil (T1/8)
7	Remove screw/bolts (5) at cylinder 1 ignition coil (T1/1) to cylinder 6 ignition coil (T1/6) or to cylinder 8 ignition coil (T1/8)	Screw/bolt, ignition coil to cylinder head cover	*BA15.10-P-1001-04A
9	Pull off cylinder 1 ignition coil (T1/1) to cylinder 6 ignition coil (T1/6) or cylinder 8 ignition coil (T1/8) with associated spark plug connectors (a) upwards and remove	To reduce the force required for plugging/unplugging the spark plug connector grease must be applied before installation of the spark plug connector. The spark plug connectors will get damaged otherwise when they are removed again. Apply about 1 g of spark plug connector grease in the spark plug connector. The cylinder 1 ignition coil (T1/1) to cylinder 6 ignition coil (T1/6) or to cylinder 8 ignition coil (T1/8) and the associated spark plug connector (a) form a unit and can only be removed and replaced together. 	Check
10	Check cylinder 1 ignition coil (T1/1) to cylinder 6 ignition coil (T1/6) or cylinder 8 ignition coil (T1/8) with spark plug connectors (a) for damage and replace if necessary	The cylinder 1 ignition coil (T1/1) to cylinder 6 ignition coil (T1/6) or to cylinder 8 ignition coil (T1/8) and the associated spark plug connector (a) form a unit and can only be removed and replaced together.
11	Install in the reverse order
12	Read out fault memory using the diagnostic system and clear if necessary
