Modified Procedures for Changing Oil and Checking Engine Oil Level
The procedure for changing oil and checking the engine oil level has been modified for the aforementioned model.
OIL CHANGE
After an engine oil temperature of >100 °C is reached (oil cooler thermostat has opened), the engine must be allowed to idle in transmission mode C for at least 30 seconds before being switched off. This ensures that the entire oil quantity is inside the external oil reservoir. The drainstop plug on the oil reservoir (15b) must then be unscrewed within 3 minutes after engine OFF.
CHECK ENGINE OIL LEVEL
After an engine oil temperature of>100 °C is reached (oil cooler thermostat has opened), the engine must be allowed to idle in transmission mode C for at least 30 seconds before being switched off. After the engine is shut off, the engine oil level must be checked with the oil dipstick within 2 minutes. This is the only way to ensure that the oil level is measured correctly.
