	Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.	Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.	AS00.00-Z-0010-01A

2	Release parking brake

6	Remove heat shield (12)	MODEL 166 (except 166.058) with TRANSMISSION 722.9 with CODE 430 (On & off-road package)
7	Disconnect electrical connectors (15a) from transfer case (15) and unclip	MODEL 166 (except 166.058) with TRANSMISSION 722.9 with CODE 430 (On & off-road package)
8	Unclip cable set from transfer case (15)
9	Mark position of rear propeller shaft (6b) relative to output flange
10	Remove rear propeller shaft (6b) at output flange to rear axle from transfer case (15), place to one side and fix in place		AR41.10-P-0050-17GZ
		Observe tightening procedure for rear propeller shaft (6b).
		Self-locking bolt for propeller shaft on transfer case (to rear axle)	*BA41.10-P-1001-01F

11	Mark position of front propeller shaft (6) relative to output flange
12	Remove front propeller shaft (6a) at output flange to front axle from transfer case (15), place to one side and fix in place		AR41.10-P-0070-03GZ
		Mark the position of the front propeller shaft (6a) on the output flange. Observe tightening procedure for front propeller shaft (6a).

14	Support rear engine mount using support brace (13)
15	Slowly lower drivetrain until upper bolts on transfer case (15) are accessible
16	Support transfer case (15) using transmission jack and transmission plate (14) and lash down securely	Transmission jack Transmission platform
17	Remove bolts from transfer case (15)	Bolt, transfer case to automatic transmission	*BA28.10-P-1002-01A
18	Push transfer case (15) to rear until transfer case (15) is completely detached from transmission (1), and lower transfer case (15)	Move input shaft of transfer case (15) completely out of transmission (1). Lightly grease gearing of input shaft of transfer case (15).

19	Install in the reverse order

20	Check oil quantity in transfer case (15) and correct if necessary	Filling screw to transfer case	*BA28.10-P-1001-01A
