Remove/install A-pillar outer section - AR63.20-P-1102NKB

DANGER Risk of injury  due to fan starting unexpectedly Do not reach into the rotation or hazard area of the fan. Wear closed and close-fitting work clothes. AS20.40-Z-0001-01A
DANGER Risk of death  when touching components on vehicles with high-voltage on-board electrical system Do not touch components and open lines of the high-voltage on-board electrical system. Persons who wear electronic implants (e.g. cardiac pacemakers), must not  carry out any work on high-voltage on-board electrical systems. AS54.00-Z-0001-01A
DANGER Risk of poisoning  caused by inhaling vapors or swallowing adhesive. Risk of injury  caused by adhesive coming into contact with skin and eyes Wear respiratory protection, protective gloves and safety glasses. Pour adhesive into suitable and appropriately marked containers only. AS00.00-Z-0016-01A
DANGER The high voltage used for electric welding presents a lethal hazard. Risk of explosion  from welding in areas close to highly inflammable materials. Risk of injury  from weld splatter and UV-light when welding. Risk of poisoning  from inhaling welding gases Use insulating mats. Wear protective clothing, safety glasses and a protective mask. Remove highly flammable materials from the hazard area. Use air extraction system. AS00.00-Z-0007-01A
DANGER Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A

REMOVING Remove     
1 Remove detachable parts in area to be repaired    
2 Cover all detachable parts remaining on vehicle with spark protection blanket    
3 Remove top front longitudinal member   AR62.20-P-1286NKB
4 Set up straightening bench with straightening bench crossmember and straightening tool set    
REFER TO SPECIAL TOOLS 000 588 01 23 00 Body straightening system   WS60.00-P-0023K
IMPORTANT Observe set-up plans provided.  
5 Place vehicle on straightening bench and fasten    
6 Remove A-pillar paneling (1) and A-pillar reinforcement (2)   AR63.20-P-1102-01NKB

Round wire brush
Spot weld milling machine
Body power jigsaw
Heat gun
Wet and dry vacuum cleaner
 
Zinc dust paint suitable for spot welding *BR00.45-Z-1001-07A 
7 Prepare A-pillar paneling (1) and A-pillar reinforcement (2)   AR63.20-P-1102-02NKB
IMPORTANTCommercially available devices/tools 
Round wire brush
Body power jigsaw
 
Zinc dust paint suitable for spot welding *BR00.45-Z-1001-07A 
INSTALLING Install     
8 Install A-pillar paneling (1) and A-pillar reinforcement (2) and weld in   AR63.20-P-1102-03NKB
REFER TO SPECIAL TOOLS 000 588 02 39 00 Rivet press tool   WS60.00-P-0010B
REFER TO SPECIAL TOOLS 000 588 02 84 00 Welder   WS60.00-P-0022K
REFER TO SPECIAL TOOLS 000 588 01 23 00 Body straightening system   WS60.00-P-0023K

Manual temporary fastener
Spot welder
Round wire brush
Wet and dry vacuum cleaner
IMPORTANT When using Celette straightening system, also use anchoring set 9212.013.

9 Release vehicle from straightening bench, lift vehicle and remove straightening bench    
10 Clean weld joints and sheet metal flange with round wire brush IMPORTANTCommercially available devices/tools  Round wire brush  
11 Install upper front longitudinal member   AR62.20-P-1286NKB
