Remove/install steering wheel - AR46.10-P-0100NKB

MODEL 117, 156, 176, 242, 246

NOTES Notes on self-locking nuts and bolts   AH00.00-N-0001-01A
REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Turn front wheels to straight-ahead position and move steering wheel to center position    
2 Detach airbag unit from steering wheel (1)   AR91.60-P-0660EL
3 Remove center bolt from steering wheel (1); counterhold steering wheel (1) when doing so INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Install new center bolt.  
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw/bolt, steering wheel to steering shaft *BA46.10-P-1001-02F 
4 Disconnect electrical connector (2) from steering wheel (1)    
5 Remove steering wheel (1) INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Align the recesses of the serrations in the steering wheel (1) with the markings on the steering shaft.  
6 Install in the reverse order    
INSPECT Check     
7 Conduct a road test IMPORTANT Check turn signal cancellation: If displacement is more than one tooth, problem-free canceling of flashers is not guaranteed.
IMPORTANT Check supplemental restraint system indicator lamp:
The supplemental restraint system (SRS) indicator lamp should not light up when the steering wheel is turned to its full-lock position in either direction.
IMPORTANT Check position of the steering wheel (1):
If the steering wheel (1) is crooked, adjust it by max. one tooth.
