General
Smooth running control reduces any rough running in the engine RPM range from 750 to 2600 RPM.
Function sequence
To do this the CDI control unit (N3/28) reads in the signal from the crankshaft sensor (L5/10) and evaluates it for uniformity.
If irregularities occur in the signal from the crankshaft sensor, the CDI control unit adjusts the injection duration by actuating the following injectors:
- Cylinder 1 injector (Y76/14)
- Cylinder 2 injector (Y76/15)
- Cylinder 3 injector (Y76/16)
- Cylinder 4 injector (Y76/17)
The fuel pressure in the rail and the injection time of fuel injectors produce the injection quantity.
