Location
Illustrated on model 906
The rail pressure sensor is located in the rail opposite the flywheel side.
Task
The rail pressure sensor detects the current rail pressure and passes on the change in resistance to the CDI control unit (N3/28).
Input and output signals
Direct output signals
- Change in resistance for monitoring rail pressure on the CDI control unit
Function
The applied rail pressure influences the position of a metal diaphragm, which is equipped with strain-gauge resistors. The change in location of a diaphragm alters the electrical resistance of the strain-gauge resistors. This change in resistance causes a voltage signal which is evaluated by the CDI control unit to detect pressure.
