The quantity control valve is located on the high-pressure pump.
Task
- Regulation of the fuel feed to the pump elements of the high-pressure pump
- Interruption of the fuel feed to the pump elements of the high-pressure pump when the engine is switched off
- Regulation of the rail pressure takes place in conjunction with the pressure regulator valve (Y74/5), rail pressure sensor (B4/16) and CDI control unit (N3/28)

Function
The fuel delivered by the fuel pump with fuel level sensor (M3/5) (for model 906) passes into the high-pressure pump flange and is led from there over the fuel temperature sensor to the quantity control valve and to the fuel pressure relief valve. The quantity control valve regulates the fuel quantity which is fed into the pump elements through an annular passage, depending on the signal from the CDI control unit.
