Location

The low-pressure turbocharger boost pressure sensor is located on the right at the cylinder head.

Task

The low-pressure turbocharger boost pressure sensor detects the charge air pressure generated by the low-pressure turbocharger and transmits the change in resistance to the CDI control unit (N3/28).

IMPORTANT The charge air pressure of the low-pressure turbocharger is transferred from the tapping point in the charge air pipe through a pressure line to the low-pressure turbocharger boost pressure sensor.

Input and output signals

Direct output signals

Function

The respective charge air pressure distorts a measurement membrane with strain resistors. The change in resistance results in a voltage which is interpreted by the CDI control unit for determining the charge-air pressure of the low-pressure turbocharger.
