	Checking
	Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.	Align vehicle between columns of vehicle lift and position four support plates at vehicle lift support points specified by vehicle manufacturer.	AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
1	Raise vehicle using vehicle lift until the wheels are clear of the ground		AR00.60-P-1000TX
2	Check boots (6)	Do not check the boots (6) by pressing in or around the raised bead. Otherwise damage and leakages may occur. Stretch boots (6) by turning the steering to the left and right and while doing so checking for damage (cracks, holes, chafe marks and intrusions); install a new boots (6) if necessary.
3	Check water drain valve in steering gear		AR46.20-P-0005EW
	Remove/install
4	Remove track rod (4)		AR46.40-P-0200EW
5	Unscrew locknut (3)
6	Remove outer clamp (5) from boot (6)	Outer clamp (5) must face downwards.
7	Detach inner clamp (1) from boot (6)	Inner clamp (1) must face downwards.
8	Pull off bellows (6)	Caution, the new part is always provided with the ventilation.
		Note position of ventilation (7), see Fig 1.
	Checking
9	Check toothed rack for signs of corrosion	If the toothed rack is corroded, a new rack-and-pinion steering must be installed. ↓ Remove/install rack-and-pinion steering	AR46.20-P-0600RK
10	Check axial joint of inside tie rod (2) for play	If the axial joint is worn, the inner tie rod (2) must be replaced with a new one. ↓ Remove/install inner tie rod (2) with axial joint.	AR46.40-P-0201EW
11	Install in the reverse order
12	Perform wheel alignment check		AR40.20-P-0200R
