Location 

The COMMAND controller unit is installed into the center console.

Task 

The COMMAND controller unit fulfills the following tasks:

Processing unit for entertainment and communications systems 

The COMMAND controller unit provides the user with a structured and uniform interface via the COMMAND display (A40/8).

Reading in of signals 

The input factors are read in via the following connections:

Direct line 

The following signals are read in via direct lines:

CAN 

The signals are read in by the COMMAND controller unit via telematics CAN (CAN A) and central CAN (CAN F).

The functions resulting therefrom are described in the corresponding function descriptions (see block diagram or function schematic).

MOST 

The COMMAND controller unit reads in control and audio signals of the audio tuner control unit (N93/1) via MOST.

Evaluation of input factors 

The input factors are processed and evaluated by the COMMAND controller unit.

Actuates output media 

Output media are actuated with the following connection:

Direct line 

The following output media are actuated via direct lines:

IMPORTANT LVDS lines are used to transfer picture and video signals.

MOST 

The COMMAND controller unit transmits audio signals to the audio tuner control unit.

CAN 

The signals are transmitted by the COMMAND controller unit via telematics CAN and central CAN.
