| Removal of knock sensor 2 (A16/2) (model 166) or knock sensor for cylinder 1+2 (A16/4) (model 172) | |||

| 3 | Remove exhaust gas recirculation cooler and place with attached coolant lines to the side | AR14.20-P-7665CD | |
| 4 | Remove power steering pump expansion reservoir and place power steering pump with attached coolant lines to the side | Model 172 | AR46.25-P-1000EWI |
| 5.1 | Remove exhaust gas recirculation cooler bypass switchover valve and place to one side | Model 172 | AR14.20-P-7660CD |
| 5.2 | Remove exhaust gas recirculation cooler bypass switchover valve holder | Model 166 | AR14.20-P-7660CD |
| 6 | Disconnect electrical connection (3), unlock electrical connection (4) and remove | ||
| 7 | Remove clamping devices (5) electrical wiring harness from exhaust gas recirculation cooler bracket (2) | ||
| 8 | Unscrew screw/bolt (1) and remove exhaust gas recirculation cooler bracket (2) | *BA14.20-P-1017-01K | |
| 9 | Remove screw/bolt (6) and take off knock sensor (A16/2) (model 166) or knock sensor for cylinder 1+2 (model 172) | *BA15.10-P-1001-02E | |
| Removal of knock sensor 1(A16/1) | |||
| 10 | Remove exhaust gas recirculation valve | AR14.20-P-7662GQ | |
| 11 | Disconnect electrical connection (7), unlock electrical connection (8) and remove | ||
| 12 | Unscrew screw/bolt (9) and remove knock sensor (A16/1) | *BA15.10-P-1001-02E | |
| 13 | Install in the reverse order |
