NOTES Notes on removal/installation of windshield   AH67.10-P-1000-01P
REMOVING Remove     
1 Prepare 1-component adhesive   AR67.10-P-1000-12CW
IMPORTANT Heating time is approx. 60 minutes.  
Glazing repair kit, 1-component adhesive, replaced by: A 221 670 81 01
Cartridge gun, electric, and preheater

2.1 Unclip left and right trim piece (2) from bottom upward and remove MODEL 204.0/3
with CODE 413 (Automatic panoramic sliding sunroof)
MODEL 204.2/9

2.2 Unclip left and right drip rail (4) from rear toward front and remove MODEL 204.0/3
without CODE 413 (Automatic panoramic sliding sunroof)

3 Unclip upper seal strip on windshield (1) and remove MODEL 204.0/2/3

4 Remove driver-side wiper arm (6) and passenger-side wiper arm (7)   AR82.30-P-6100CW
5 Remove expansion rivets (8)    
6 Remove air/water duct (9) and place to one side with lines connected    
7 Loosen inside rear-view mirror and allow electrical lines to hang down   AR68.40-P-0001SX
8 Remove light sensor or right/light sensor   AR82.30-P-7800CW
9 Remove multifunction camera MODEL 204
with CODE 238 (Active lane keeping Assist)

10 Cover dashboard    
DANGER Risk of injury  from cutting wire tearing or becoming hot and from splinters of glass when cutting out bonded windows Wear protective gloves and safety glasses. AS67.00-Z-0004-01A
11 Cut out windshield (1) with roll-out 2004 window removal tool and remove   AR67.10-P-1000-11SX
    IMPORTANT MODEL 204.9 as of 8/5/13
The upper seal strip on the windshield (1) can be damaged during removal. For this reason it is necessary to replace the windshield (1).
IMPORTANT Aid of helper required to remove windshield (1) from body flange.
Cup suction tool/suspension equipment (for window removal/installation)
Glass removal
 
INSTALLING Install     
12 Prepare body flange for installation of window   AR67.10-P-1501-01CW
NOTES General notes about painting the body flange in the glazing area   AH98.00-P-9408-06A
    NOTES The bonding area must be absolutely free of dust and grease.
Otherwise the adhesive force of the glue starts to decrease when installing window.
IMPORTANT
 
    Primer stick *BR00.45-Z-1012-07A 
    Glazing repair kit, 1-component adhesive, replaced by: A 221 670 81 01
Wet and dry vacuum cleaner
*BR00.45-Z-1089-02A 
13 Align windshield (1) in body opening   AR67.10-P-1000-04CW
IMPORTANT Helper required.  
Distance between top edge of window and transition between rabbet and front edge of roof
Cup suction tool/suspension equipment (for window removal/installation)
*BE67.10-P-1001-01G

14 Install upper seal strip on windshield (1) MODEL 204.0/2/3

15 Prepare windshield (1) for installation   AR67.10-P-1000-03CW
NOTES The bonding area on the windshield (1) must be absolutely free of dust and grease. Otherwise the adhesive force of the glue starts to decrease when installing window.  
Glazing repair kit, 1-component adhesive, replaced by: A 221 670 81 01 *BR00.45-Z-1089-02A 
16 Open driver-side window NOTES The side window in the driver door must be open during the curing time of the adhesive material.
This prevents the windshield (1) from being pressed outwards by the air pressure when the door are closed.
 
17 Apply adhesive material   AR67.10-P-1000-08CW
NOTES Install windshield (1) within 10 minutes after applying adhesive material to body flange. Otherwise the adhesive force of the glue starts to decrease.
IMPORTANT Uniformly apply adhesive bead at a height of approx. 13 mm.

Cartridge gun, electric, and preheater

18 Install windshield (1) and fasten with suitable adhesive tape   AR67.10-P-1503-01CW
IMPORTANT Helper required. The curing time is approx. 2 h measured from the time the windshield (1) is installed.

19 Install multifunction camera MODEL 204
with CODE 238 (Active lane keeping Assist)

with CODE 476 (Lane keeping assist)

24.1 Clip in left and right trim piece (2) from top downward MODEL 204.0/3
with CODE 413 (Automatic panoramic sliding sunroof)
MODEL 204.2/9
IMPORTANT Ensure that trim piece (2) is seated correctly in clips (3).
 
24.2 Clip in left and right drip rail (4) from front toward rear MODEL 204.0/3
with CODE 413 (Automatic panoramic sliding sunroof)
MODEL 204.2/9
IMPORTANT Ensure that drip rail (4) is seated correctly in clips (3).
Ensure that clips (5) are seated correctly on roof paneling.
 
25 Install driver-side wiper arm (6) and passenger-side wiper arm (7)   AR82.30-P-6100CW
26 Remove cover from instrument panel    
CLEANING Clean     
27 Clean windshield (1)    
TEST AND ADJUSTMENT VALUES FOR WINDSHIELD
